Katniss Everdeen Summry

Katniss is many things....A leader, a fighter, a role model, a hunter, a hunted, a friend, a daughter, and a lover. Those are just some of the things katniss is in the book mocking jay. When she and Gale receive permission to go aboveground in District 13 and hunt together like they use to in district 12, she's excited mostly because as she thinks to herself  "We could be ourselves again". The self she remembers that she is the Hunger Games victor, the Quarter Quell escaper, and the face of the rebel movement. Katniss had a strong and clear identity before she entered the Games. She was a girl who thrived on being her family's caretaker and providing for others. A girl who sought out freedom wherever she could find it. A girl who would protect her little sister, Prim at all costs even if it meant her dieing a brutal death in the Hunger Games.(In the first book she voulenteered for prim in the hunger games and won.) So you see that Katniss Everdeen is a very courageous girl and will always be remembered for it in the book and in our world today.

Mocking jay summary #3

Katniss is afraid for her life. Though Peeta has improved a bit.... he's still hijacked and hates Katniss(shocker rihgt?). Her commander Boggs, agrees that she should watch out. But Boggs is one of the first to die. Before he died he gave her command of their unit.
Katniss tells the others she has a secret mission to kill President Snow and they follow her on what turns out to be a suicide mission. One by one their team members are "sacrificed" as they make their way to the heart of the Capitol. Only five of them including Katniss, Gale, and Peeta, are left by the time they reach the center. Then they all get separated.
During the ensuing battle many innocent children die. Members of the rebels medical team including Prim, Katniss's sister are also killed. Katniss is badly wounded again. On the pluse side the rebels have gained control and have captured President Snow. Katniss visits the imprisoned President Snow who says she should blame President Coin (of the rebels) for the attack and Prim's death. We can all believe Katniss is pretty ticked off right? After all she did volunteer for the hunger games in the first book.
And maybe he's right. It appears the rebels staged the final attack. An the weapon Gale made (you know the one Katniss thought was inhumane) could have been the one that killed Katniss's sister. Katniss can't forgive him it wouldnt be right.
In a meeting right before President Snows execution President Coin says that the remaining Hunger Games victors must vote to determine whether or not the new rebel government should start up the Hunger Games again as a way to punish the citizens of the Capitol for what they did to the citizens of the Districts. (What?!?!?!I thought they were fighting to end the crule hunger games?) Katniss votes in favor. In part because of Katniss's vote the answer is yes the Hunger Games will start again.
Then it's time for Snow's execution. Katniss has the task of shooting him with her famous bow and arrow, but at the last minute, she kills Coin instead. Snow dies anyway.
At this point, Katniss has a serious breakdown. Time passes but she's pretty much in a fog. Later she learns that she was acquitted during her trial, and she's sent back to the ruined District 12, along with Haymitch and later Peeta. Gale disappears into another district.
Over time Katniss is able to grieve for her sister and the many others who died. As she begins to rebuild her life, she and Peeta restore a romantic relationship and eventually have children.(As we all thought it would anyway)

Mocking Jay summry #2

Katniss is horrified by the way Peeta is being treated. The Capitol bombs District 13, just as Peeta warned it would. Citizens of District 13 retreat underground for a couple days. When it's all clear Katniss makes another propo while other rebel teams go to rescue Peeta.
The rebels get Peeta and some other folks out of the Capitol, but Peeta's been badly damaged. He's been "hijacked" (as in brainwashed) and now thinks of Katniss as the enemy. As soon as he sees her, he tries to kill her. Not a very happy reunion.
Once she recovers from Peeta's attack Katniss needs to be part of the action. She heads back to District 2 and is part of a summit about whether to attack the other side humanely or inhumanely. Gale suggests some inhumane kinds of weapons and strategies. During the battle Katniss gets shot. While recovering she bonds with another victor who we met in Catching Fire Johanna, and witnesses the wedding of victors Finnick and Annie.
After a second recovery Katniss trains to be part of the fighting again. She, Gale, and Finnick are assigned to a special unit that will be filmed during combat and turned into more propos. Right before they go out into the field, Peeta's assigned to their unit too. Is it just me or does that seem like a bad idea?(Considering he had tried to kill katniss once he may still be brain washed.)

Mocking jay summary #1

Katniss takes role in her new position as a rebel in District 13. She and a few others were rescued from the Quarter Quell (Catching fire), but Peeta wasn't one of them.....he's still missing, under control of the Capitol. Katniss is still haunted by President Snow. After much thought, she decides to be the leader, the Mockingjay, for the rebel side. In return, she gets immunity for her friends and permission to kill Snow. Another Games victor, Beetee, makes Katniss a special weapon.
Katniss has to star in commercials for the rebel side called propos. For one propo she and a team that includes her old friend Gale are sent into District 2, where they see a hospital get destroyed. This inspires Katniss to call for justice. Because the rebels are gaining in strength, and because Peeta has sent out a coded message to the rebels warning them of an attack. The Capitol releases a video of Peeta being tortured.

The Triangulation essay

Triangulation Essay

In our world there must be control but what will happen when it is taken to the extreme? The book Anthem, short story Harrison Bergeron, and movie Antz all have different societies that are subjected to obsessive control. So they are different but then again they are the same. If obsessive control exists in a society major outburst of rebellion will happen.
In the book “Anthem” the society controls everything! They choose what jobs people will have and once the job is given they will do that job all there life. The people all do the same thing. They eat, sleep, socialize, wakeup, and work all at the same time. This is the kind of control the government has on them. Also the people are always being watched so if they step out of line they were burned in the town center. They  rebel against government.
The movie Antz also shows obsessive control, the higher ranked ants have rights to take away rashings if a ant steps out of line. In the movie the rebellious ant “Z” goes to a bar. Then the other ants say “5 O’clock time to dance. Then they all do the same dance. Z does his own dance and is told to stop. The control in this is huge because they all do the same dance at the same time every signal day. One part in this in the movie was when the higher ranked ants forced the lower ranked ants to build a mega tunnel that would soon lead to be the death of them…or will it? The higher rank ants new it would wipe out the rest of the colony so they went to safety while the others stayed inside. They wanted to start a new colony.
Finally in the short story Harrison Bergeron the obsessive control goes through the roof! First off the government always knows what you’re thinking which kind of branches off into they then give you handicaps based on you physical and mental abilities or disabilities. Some are weaker or stronger, some are dumber or smarter, or some are even prettier than others. So they will give you handicaps based off of that. They control whatever handicaps they give you so if you take them off they will know! If they lose control over you like they did Harrison. They will kill them if they become a threat to the government or society.
So you see now that obsessive control can really ruin your day. The three examples are only some of many dystopic societies that there are. If the technology keeps advancing as fast it is now we could very well end up in an obsessively controlled society.
